DEFENSIVE DEPTH THE FOCUS ON DAY THREE OF NFL DRAFT

The Steelers rounded out the NFL draft by taking Texas A&M defensive lineman Dan Moore and his teammate, inside linebacker Buddy Johnson in the 4^th round, trading a 4^th round choice next year to take Wisconsin defensive end Isaiah Loudermilk in the 5^th,  Miami edge rusher Quincy Roche in the 6^th, and Oklahoma defensive back Tre Norwood and Georgia Tech punter Pressley Harvin III with their two picks in the 7^th round.

They then signed eight free agents, concentrating again on defense and particularly the secondary. Most notable among the free agents is Penn State safety Lamont Wade, who went to high school at Clairton. Other free agents included cornerbacks Shakur Brown of Michigan State and Mark Gilbert of Duke, (another Pittsburgh native); linebackers Calvin Bundage of Oklahoma State and Jamar Watson of Kentucky; and wide receivers Rico Bussey Jr. of Hawaii and Isaiah McKoy of Kent State.
