The first round of the NFL draft is tonight in Cleveland, with the Steelers holding the 24th pick, for now. General Manager Kevin Colbert said earlier this week that he would not rule out making a trade to move down in the draft, with quality depth at almost all positions. Most draft experts predict the Steelers will take a running back with their pick, with the favorites being Alabama running back Najee Harris, Clemson’s Travis Etienne, or North Carolina’s Javonte Williams.
Barring trades, the Steelers will have single draft picks in the first three rounds, two in the fourth, one in the sixth, and two in the seventh.
At the top of the draft, Jacksonville will take Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The Jets have the second pick, followed by the 49ers, Falcons, and Bengals.
Carolina traded quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to Denver yesterday for a sixth-round draft choice. Tampa Bay re-signed wider receiver Antonio Brown.
