With the first round draft scheduled tomorrow night, the Steelers yesterday made a move to lock up All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. The team picked up the fifth-year option on Fitzpatrick at a guaranteed salary of $10.612 million. That puts him in Pittsburgh at least through the 2022 season.
While Fitzpatrick was a 2018 first-round draft pick by the Dolphins and was acquired in a trade by Pittsburgh, the Steelers’ other safety, 2018 first rounder Terrell Edmunds is still waiting to see of the team will pick up his fifth-round option.
