PENNS MANOR – 4, BLACKLICK VALLEY – 1
Kassidy Smith and Anna Peterman helped the Comets take down the Blacklick Valley Vikings in non-conference play.
Smith would strike out 15 hitters while allowing just one run in a complete game effort on the mound. She would also collect two hits and an RBI. Peterman – who caught for Smith – went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Jada Bennett would add one in Penns Manor’s hit column.
After the game, Smith said that her dominant performance on the hill was due to a strong bond with Peterman behind the plate.
Peterman said it was easy to help control the flow of the game since she knows both the pitcher and catcher positions.
Comets’ head coach Jim Smith said after the game that, as a coach, it feels relieving to have pitchers like Smith and Peterman to take care of business on the mound. He also complimented the defense for making key plays to make it easier for Smith on the mound.

Lions’ pitcher Ben Tomb threw a no-hitter against Blairsville on Monday to help United take down Blairsville in five innings. He would strike out all 15 batters faced in the game.
The trio of Wade Plowman, Bradley Felix and Hunter Cameron would contribute two RBIs each. Cameron would also add three stolen bases, while Jon Henry swiped two.
No individual stats were reported for Blairsville.
MARION CENTER – 12, PURCHASE LINE – 1
A three-RBI day for Parker Blake fueled the Stingers 12-1 win over the Red Dragons on Monday. Marion Center’s offense was also backed by Ty Ryen, Aiden Cattau and Landin Bennett, who each finished with two hits and two RBIs.
On the mound, Cattau picked up the win after allowing just one run while striking out five over four innings pitched. Braden Reichenbach tossed a perfect inning of relief in the fifth.
Mason Gearhart and Jayce Brooks picked up the only two hits for Purchase Line while Isaac Huey drove in the lone run.
SALTSBURG – 14, NORTHERN CAMBRIA – 3
A six-run third inning propelled the Trojans to victory over the Colts on Monday.
Owen Bougher led Northern Cambria with two hits and three RBIs. Five other Colts would tally a hit in the game.
No individual stats were reported for Saltsburg.
WEST SHAMOKIN – 4, HOMER-CENTER – 3
Homer-Center would rally for three runs in the seventh inning but Ezeck Ollinger would pick up the save to seal a 4-3 win for the Wolves.
Trevor Smulik started the game for West Shamokin, where he would fan 14 hitters over 6.2 innings. He would earn the win.
Olinger would help on offense with a double and an RBI, while Smulik picked up an RBI and a pair of hits in the game.

KNOCH – 9. INDIANA – 8
Despite mounting a two-spot in the final inning, Knoch would stop the Little Indians’ rally to take Monday’s game, 9-8.
Ben Ryan went 2-for-3 with a home run in the game while Steven Budash went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs.
Garrison Dougherty threw 3.2 scoreless innings in relief. He would allow no runs on four hits while striking out six.
