Evgeni Malkin was back at Penguins practice on Friday, donning the white no-contact jersey.
This marks the first time Geno was with his teammates since the knee injury on March 16th that sent him to the sidelines. He remains on long-term injured reserve. Pens Head Coach Mike Sullivan said that there was no change in Malkin’s status, so it’s not likely that he’ll be back in the lineup for today or tomorrow.
Also in a non-contact jersey during practice yesterday was Frederick Gaudreau, who has been out since April 11th with a lower body injury. Brandon Tanev skated on his own with skills coach Ty Hennes on Friday and was not with the team.
