UPDATE (9:20 a.m.):
Two more crashes were reported shortly after 9 o’clock this morning.
Indiana County 911 reports the first happened along Route 286 East in Montgomery Township. Commodore and Glen Campbell fire departments were dispatched along with Pennsylvania State Police in Indiana. No injuries were reported.
The second came at 9:07 a.m. where the Plumville Fire Department along with Pennsylvania State Police responded to a crash along Route 210 in North Mahoning Township. No injuries were reported in that crash as well.
FROM THIS MORNING:
Emergency crews are busy this morning with multiple crashes reported on highways in Indiana and Armstrong Counties.
Two of the crashes were reported on Route 22 in the Eastbound lane. The first crash was at 6:50 this morning in West Wheatfield Township. Clyde and Armagh fire crews were dispatched at the time. Fifteen minutes later, the second accident was reported on Route 22 East in East Wheatfield Township. Armagh/East Wheatfield Volunteer Fire Company was called out for that.
A vehicle accident was reported on Route 403 North in Green Township between Dixonville Road and Fisher Furniture. Commodore Volunteer Fire Department was initially dispatched at 7:38 this morning for a report of a vehicle going into a creek. Additional manpower from the Clymer Volunteer Fire Company has been called in to assist.
The fourth call was at 7:39 for a crash on the Route 119 bridge that goes over Route 422. Indiana Fire Association officials on-scene said there were no injuries reported, but they say that the cold temperatures have caused the bridges to freeze and drivers need to slow down on bridges today as the crash involved a car going into the median.
In Armstrong County, crews are on the scene of a crash on Route 422. Officials with PennDOT that 422 is closed in both directions in the vicinity of Yellow Dog Road in West Franklin Township due to a multiple-vehicle crash. No detour information is available, and the estimated reopening time is not known.
