Most of Indiana County’s high school basketball teams are scheduled to play in holiday tournaments in the next several days.
After years of playing in the Richland tournament, Homer-Center’s boys will play in the Ferndale tournament, tipping off tomorrow against Claysburg-Kimmel. Homer-Center’s girls will play in the Richland tournament, also starting tomorrow.
Other Wednesday action includes the Purchase Line Lions Tournament, with the Red Dragons playing the Penns Manor boys. Penns Manor’s girls play in the Central Cambria tournament, while the Purchase Line girls will play Blacklick Valley at home before the boys tip off.
Thursday action has the two Marion Center teams playing in the Punxsutawney tournament, the United girls and boys opening play in the Boswell Jaycee Tournament, both against Tussey Mountain. The River Valley boys play Summit Academy in the Apollo tournament, and the River Valley’s girls play Connellsville in the Hempfield tournament.
On Friday, the Indiana girls were to play in the Latrobe tournament but those games are now listed as canceled. Indiana’s boys are scheduled to play in the St. Joseph’s tournament on Friday and Saturday.
