The 69th brush fire of the year in Indiana County was reported Monday evening in East Mahoning Township.
Indiana County 911 reported that Marion Center Fire Department was dispatched at 5:42 PM for the fire on Main Street in Marion Center. Fire officials say that the fire did endanger a garage nearby, but crews were able to get the fire under control before it reached the garage. The fire was ruled as a controlled burn that got out of control.
There was one other reported fire on Monday, this one at a home on Locust Street in Indiana Borough. Indiana Fire Association officials say at 5:03 PM, they were called out to the home and found that a broiler pan started smoking for an unknown reason. No damage was reported.
