At a special meeting Monday night, the Indiana School Board named Quintina Thomas to the board to fill the term of a board member who stepped down.

Thomas will fill the two-year term of Patrick Schneider, who resigned before he was sworn into office. Thomas ran for school board in the November general election but failed to secure a seat on the board. She went up against six other candidates, including some former board members, longtime district residents and parents of students in the district. She talks about what she is looking forward to as a board member.
