Indiana Borough Police’s newest four-footed member was sworn into office at a ceremony this afternoon at Ben Franklin Elementary School.
Officer Scout took his Oath of Office alongside his partner, Officer Michael Clawson, at a ceremony in the school gymnasium. Like his colleague Axel, Scout is a part of the Comfort K-9 Program, which offers emotional relief to victims of crime as well as other members of the police force.
Clawson said Scout has been a good addition to the force.
Chief Justin Schawl said the Comfort K-9 Program has been successful in Indiana.
Scout is a scent-tracking bloodhound that tracks missing or lost people for Indiana Borough Police and neighboring police forces.
Thursday will be the two-year anniversary of Axel’s swearing-in ceremony.
