Thomas Eugene Risinger, 82, of Blairsville, PA (Burrell Twp.) joined the love of his life, Nellie Risinger, on Friday, December 15, 2023 in Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.
The son of Raymond and Edna (Cover) Risinger, he was born on September 3, 1941 in Homer City, PA.
Thomas graduated from Laura Lamar High School, Class of 1959 and was a veteran of the US Marines.
He worked for Westinghouse Specialty Metals Plant, Blairsville, for 32 years until his retirement.
Thomas was a member of the Red Barn Sportsmen’s Club, and loved going to the beach, gardening, hunting, fishing, spending time with family, and dining out.
Surviving are two children, Jill K. Risinger (fiancé Ken Lassick II) of Blairsville, and Amy E. Risinger of Blairsville; a brother, Raymond Risinger (Gail) of Blairsville; and his two cats, Whiskers & Bad Ass.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nellie E. (Bost) Risinger on June 4, 2018, and a brother, Robert Risinger.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Jack Lucas officiating.
Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville Military Honor Guard at the cemetery.
