Over the last week, the statewide average cost of a gallon of gas went down slightly, but Indiana County’s average held steady.
Triple-A reports that the average cost of a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania as of this morning is $2.96 a gallon. That’s down a penny from last week at this time and seven cents cheaper than last month. Last year at this time, with demand low due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the average price for a gallon of gas was $2.10 a gallon. The national average gas price is $2.86, staying flat for the most part over the last week even as demand starts to rise once again. The cost was kept in check due to the total growth in domestic oil supplies.
