IUP and other groups that are members of the Indiana Area Collaborative Team or I-ACT are getting ready for the upcoming homecoming weekend.
Along with the annual homecoming parade and football game, many alumni and friends are expected in town for the weekend, which unofficially kicks off on Thursday with the annual hip-hop concert at the KCAC. As part of the weekend, law enforcement will be on high alert, working long shifts and bringing in resources from the State Police and the Sheriff’s office to assist with law enforcement activity.
Indiana County District Attorney Pat Dougherty said that last spring during the unsanctioned events known as I-U-Patty’s, the police enforced a “zero tolerance” policy that was a success, and Dougherty said that the policy would go into effect again this year. He said that they want to make sure that small misconducts are taken care of when they are still small so they don’t become big problems.
Activities include several reunions, including the 25th anniversary of the IUP Ambassadors program and the 50th anniversary reunion of the Geoscience department.
