BURRELL TOWNSHIP
State police are investigating a theft in Burrell Township in which a safe containing $50,000 was stolen.
It happened between 10:30 PM on March 27th and 12:30 AM on the 28th at 120 Schoolhouse Road. Police say the thief used a key to get into the home. The money was mostly in $100 bills. The safe is a SafeServ 1.23 cubic foot model valued at $250.
The victim is a 21-year-old Black Lick man. Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 357-1960.
GREEN TOWNSHIP
Police say a burglar forced open the front door to enter a home along Douglas Street in Commodore between 2:30 Wednesday afternoon and 7:00 that evening, walking away with about $285 worth of items. Among the stolen goods were a navy blue XBox One game console with an Assassin’s Creed game in it and various bathroom products.
There was video surveillance at the home and police are awaiting the chance to view it. The victim is a 27-year-old woman
BURRELL TOWNSHIP
A Blair County man discovered a guy trying to steal his license plate while his vehicle was parked in the Resort Plaza in Burrell Township on April 3rd. The 27-year-old Duncansville man interrupted the crime and the thief fled in a white SUV. There is no description of the suspect or make or model of the vehicle.
EAST WHEATFIELD TOWNSHIP
Five people were cited for disorderly conduct on Monday night after a fight broke out outside a home along Second Avenue in East Wheatfield Township.
State police say the suspects were a 29-year-old woman and 31-year-old man, both from Blairsville; a 32-year-old man and 31-year-old woman, both from Seward; and a 40-year-old man from Yulee, Florida.
During the investigation of the fight, police determined that the Florida man had been driving under the influence of a controlled substance and was in possession of raw marijuana and paraphernalia and a firearm concealed in his vehicle for which he had no conceal carry permit. He is facing additional charges.
WHITE TOWNSHIP
State police took an Indiana man into custody early yesterday after they were called for a suspicious male acting erratically and knocking on people’s doors along South 6th Street in White Township. The 35-year-old was quite intoxicated on a controlled substance and also had outstanding warrants. He is not publicly identified.
