With more than 600 construction jobs projected for the new URBN Fulfillment Center and with at least 250 permanent jobs forecast once the center opens, the local labor force is going to be called upon to “step up”, as several county leaders put it yesterday.
Indiana County CareerLink Administrator Kevin Lazor says his agency will be working with URBN’s Human Resources representatives, the Chamber of Commerce, IUP, the Indiana County Technology Center, and other community leaders and entities to ensure that the enterprise will have the required workforce. Lazor says they will also be reaching out to CareerLink sites in surrounding counties to recruit workers.
Lazor says to watch for employment opportunities to be announced as the process moves forward, according to URBN’s needs and timeline.
