An evidentiary hearing is scheduled today in Westmoreland County Court for Clayton Mibroda of Bolivar, who is seeking a second appeal of his conviction for third degree murder in the death of his 20-day-old daughter in 2011.
In July, Judge Christopher Feliciani appointed attorney Tim Andrews to investigate a claim by Brandon Green that he had information that would exonerate Mibroda. Green once had a relationship with the baby’s mother, Kayla Lichtenfels, whom Mibroda contends was responsible for the baby’s death. The judge said he wanted to know if Mibroda’s former attorneys had ever interviewed Green, and he said he wanted to hear from Green, too.
Green, who is from White Township, is currently serving five to ten years in prison for aggravated assault for abusing his step-son in 2015.
Mibroda is scheduled to be in the courtroom today. Green’s docket sheet does not indicate if he will or will not be there.
