A man who is serving time for third-degree murder and aggravated assault will be sentenced today for an incident of Aggravated Assault that happened while he was incarcerated.
21-year-old Matthew McNevin will be sentenced today on a sole charge of aggravated assault that was filed on April 27th of this year. McNevin is charged with assaulting a guard at the Indiana County Jail. This was separate from the trial where he pleaded guilty to third degree murder and aggravated assault in the shooting death of Carlos Recalde-Campos of Indiana and the wounding of Samantha Jo Riley of Indiana during the IUPatty’s event on March 25th of last year. He is currently serving 27-and-a-half to 60 years in prison for the shooting charge.
Also, A Rural Valley man will be in Indiana County Court today for plea hearings in five different cases.
David Paul Holbein of Rural Valley will go before a judge today and enter pleas in five cases, with charges ranging from drug-related crimes in two cases, theft by deception-false impression in a third, criminal trespassing and conspiracy to burglary in a fourth, and defiant trespass in a fifth case. All of the incidents, including possessing heroin during a traffic stop and entering a Wal-Mart store when he was not allowed to, happened between November of last year and February of this year.
