It’s unfortunate to even consider the possibility, but you can never be too careful…the Faith Team of Indiana County’s Health & Human Services Subcommittee will be holding a series of seminars next month to help churches prepare for an active shooter emergency.
Titled, “Pennsylvania State Police Active Shooter Response Training & Emergency Preparedness for Houses of Worship- How to Remain Welcoming and Protected,” the workshops will be presented by State Police Trooper Clifford Greenfield at three locations in Indiana County in October. Additional presenters will include Sheriff Bob Fyock, Indiana County Emergency Management Agency Deputy Director John Pividori, and 911 Coordinator Jolene Burkhardt.
There will be no cost to attend. Pre-registration is requested, but walk-ins will be welcome.
The dates are October 2nd at 8:30 AM at the Blairsville United Presbyterian Church, October 9th at 1:30 at the Hilltop Baptist Church in Indiana, and October 16th at 6:30 PM at the Marion Center Presbyterian Church.
If you have questions, please contact Kathy Abbey-Baker at the Department of Human Services at 463-8200, Extension 8.
