A Big Run man entered “no-contest” pleas yesterday in Indiana County court in connection with the sexual assault of a child.
Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi announced that 24-year-old Tyler Stormer entered the plea to two counts of rape of a child, one count of rape, four counts of indecent assault of someone under 13, two counts of aggravated assault of a child, two counts of aggravated assault of a person under 13 and four counts of harassment. In this plea, the defendant does not admit guilt, but does not contest the charges filed against him. The charges stem from an investigation that started in early 2021 after a report was made on the PA Childline. After a five-month investigation, state police filed the charges against Stormer on August 2nd of this year.
Sentencing is set to take place within the next 120 days. Stormer will remain in Indiana County Jail until his sentencing hearing. A pre-sentence investigation and a state assessment by the Sexual Offender Assessment Board must be completed before then.
