Reaction continues to come in over the sudden closing of the Coventry Inn restaurant.
In an email to his customers, owner Charles A. Runyan said he was closing the British pub-inspired restaurant because he says he does not have enough staffers to run it. Several employees left the restaurant at close to the same time, leaving him with only four or five people to run the restaurant, and he said he would need double that number to run it.
One of Runyan’s long-time friends, Dana Henry, called it a sad announcement from Runyan, as he’s been working hard to keep things at a very high level. Henry worked with Runyan at The Roadster Factory, another company that Runyan owns that deals in parts for British import cars for six years, and during that time, Runyan made a lot of trips to Britain to make extensive research, especially into the architecture. The building itself was made like a classic pub, with no nails involved in the structure itself. Much of the furniture was also locally made.
Runyan’s email has been posted in a separate article on this website.
