Gabe Nettleton scored at the 2:54 mark of overtime as Indiana knocked off previously unbeaten Quaker Valley, 3-2 last night. Trailing 1-0 after one period, Indiana got second period goals from Garrett Goodrich and Ash Lockard to take a 2-1 lead, but Quaker Valley’s Max Modrovich scored to send the game into the third period tied at 2.
Nettleton won a faceoff from the left wing circle and played the puck around the boards after Quaker Valley inexplicably rushed up the ice. Ash Lockard stepped in and controlled the puck as Nettleton set up to the left of the goal. Lockard fed a beautiful pass across the net and Nettleton slammed home the game-winner with only six seconds left in the OT.
Goodrich and Lockard each had a goal and an assist and Luke Rowe stopped 27 of 29 Quaker Valley shots.
