The heavy rain even affected some of the outdoor festivals planned for the weekend, including Homer City’s Hoodlebug Festival.
On Saturday, the Hoodlebug Festival organizers posted an amended schedule about how activities were to be handled for the day. According to Penny Perman with the Hoodlebug Festival, they had to go to a Plan B, which they didn’t even have.
Perman said that this was the first time in the history of the festival that things had to be adjusted due to heavy rainfall. Perman said that they had a lot of help with food vendors setting up tents, and many of the events were moved to the firehall. They still had a strong turnout for the Annual Hoodlebug 5k, and they did alter the schedule to end things at 6:00 as the final band did not want to play in the rain.
Perman also said they were thankful for all of the support, including the business organizations, the fire department and all those who came out in spite of the rain.
