NFL Week 14 kicks off tonight at Acrisure Stadium, where the Steelers tackle the New England Patriots in a battle of two of the lowliest offenses in the NFL, and both will be using backup quarterbacks.
Mitch Trubisky replaces the injured Kenny Pickett for the Steelers. Bailey Zappe starts for the Pats, replacing the ineffective Mac Jones. Trubisky says the mission is the same with him starting as it would be if Pickett was playing-putting the ball in the end zone.
Trubisky says the Patriots, who are the first team ever to lose three straight games without giving up more than 10 points in any of them, are a very strong defensive team.
The Steelers injury list grew again yesterday. Center Mason Cole, guard Isaac Seumalo, running back Najee Harris, and linebacker Elandon Roberts are all listed as questionable. Seumalo and Harris did not practice yesterday.
Pickett and cornerback James Pierre are the only Steelers listed as out of the game.
The game kicks off at 8:15. It’s a 6:15 airtime on WDAD.
