A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held later today in Dixonville for a company that makes chalkboards, whiteboards and other display items for schools.
Platinum Visual Solutions is holding the Ribbon Cutting at a facility on Barr Slope Road in Dixonville at the former Greensteel facility. The company has been in business for over 60 years and are the leading manufacturers of classroom display products. According to a news release, the new plant will enhance the company’s ability to produce and distribute its products to customers in the Mid-West and Eastern U.S. This will mark a homecoming for company owner Gary P. Stell, Jr. and CEO Mark A. Lawer, who are from Altoona and Indiana respectively. Lawer said in a statement from the company that “the local community already knows the business and has the knowledge and talent we need to be successful, and we’re looking forward to working with the many skilled craftspeople in the area and investing in what will be an ideal location for our customers.”
The ribbon cutting is scheduled for 4:00 this afternoon.
