Incumbent Walter Schroth and new members Doug Steve, Sally McCombie and Chris Adams were sworn into office, but another newly elected member of the board, Patrick Schneider, was not as he submitted a letter of resignation. Business Manager Jared Cronauer said that the board will need to appoint a new member. They will accept letters of interest from interested people, and hold a special meeting on December 18th at 5:30 PM to appoint that member.
In other business, the board also got an update on the Eisenhower project. Cronauer said that heavy equipment was delivered to start excavations, and demolition and asbestos abatement continues. So far, the project is on time.
In other business, the board approved a resolution to not increase property taxes above the state-mandated index of 6.8%. This does not lock the district into raising taxes but sets the maximum limit they would be able to do so.
