With the heat wave continuing across our region, two Indiana County school districts have announced early dismissals for some of their students.
Blairsville-Saltsburg has posted early dismissal for all of its schools. The secondary schools will release their students at 12:30 and the elementary schools will dismiss today at 1:15.
Indiana Area has also announced early dismissal, but only for the elementary schools. Those students will be sent home at one o’clock. In a letter posted on the district’s website, Superintendent Michael Vuckovich says that temperatures inside schools without air conditioning could top 100 degrees. With temperatures still on the rise, he says he will try to make a decision about tomorrow by 5 o’clock this afternoon.
