A fire this morning in Green Township has left a family of four without a home.
The fire was reported on Larch Road at 8:15 this morning by Indiana County 911. Firefighters from Commodore, Clymer, Cherry Tree and Home fire departments were dispatched along with Citizens Ambulance. Commodore fire officials say that the fire started with the stove in the kitchen, and they were able to contain the fire to that room. Heat and smoke damage did affect the first floor of the building. One resident had to jump out of a window to safety, but all four family members are safe. Firefighters were also able to rescue the family dog.
The fire has been ruled accidental, and the house has been ruled not livable at this time. The Red Cross has been called in to assist the family.
