The PA Department of Health announced earlier today that starting today, emergency responders, grocery store workers and other groups will be able to make appointments to get the Covid-19 Vaccine, while the rest of Pennsylvania will be able to make their appointments on April 19th as part of an accelerated schedule for the state’s vaccine rollout.
Acting Secretary of Health Allison Beam said that starting today, those in law enforcement, firefighters, grocery store workers and food and agriculture workers will be able to schedule their appointments as part of the phase 1-A rollout. Phase 1-B will be eligible to start making appointments on April 5th, and on the 12th, Phase 1-C residents will be able to receive their vaccine. Everyone else will be eligible on the 19th. Beam said that the rollout is evolving as the federal government increases vaccine allocations to more retail pharmacy chains across the country.
Beam warned that eligibility still does not guarantee an immediate vaccine appointment. People can use the state Department of Health’s Vaccine Provider Map to find a vaccine provider near you to make an appointment with. You can find the map by clicking on the link below.
