Mary Jane (George) Brown, 82 of Blairsville, PA passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023, at Beacon Ridge, Indiana, PA.
Born February 14, 1941, in Blairsville, PA, she was the daughter of Joseph Glenn and Helen J. (Berenbrok) George.
Mary Jane was a graduate of Blairsville High School, Class of 1960 and was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Blairsville.
She worked for 30 years as a secretary for the Blairsville Borough until her retirement.
Mary Jane loved her dogs and cats, especially her dog named “Bumper”, flower gardening, holiday family gatherings at her house, socializing with friends for lunch dates and more recently at Beacon Ridge playing various games and making crafts.
Surviving are two children, Barbara A. Anderson (Bill Sweeney) of Delmont and Brian K. Brown of Blairsville; daughter-in-law, Rebekah R. Gordish of Spring Church; two grandchildren, Dalton Anderson (fiancée Emily Morgan) and Courtney Bollinger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, J. Wayne George in 2016 and grandson, Brady C. Bollinger in 2022.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 26th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday at 11 AM with Rev. Timothy R. Monroe officiating.
Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
