Talk about making a big splash…IUP freshman Kasha Stokes has been named the PSAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week after setting two school records last week at the Magnus Cup, hosted by Cleveland State. She opened the meet with a school record 55.82 in the 100 backstroke and then posted a school record 2:01.08 in the prelims of the 200 back, which is also an NCAA B standard. Stokes finished fifth overall in the 200 back, just eight-hundredths of a second behind her earlier record time.
SOCCER
IUP women’s soccer has placed four players on the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.
They include Indiana High grad Hannah Scardina and fellow seniors Julia Csernyik, Kristen Finnerty, and Kylie Warren.
Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. That team will be announced on December 20th.
