The first of the fires was reported on South Main Street in Cherry Tree Borough at 11:07 AM. Cherry Tree, Hope and Commodore firefighters were called out along with the Rig Team, Citizens’ Ambulance and local police. Fire officials say that the home did have extensive damage, but crews were able to knock the fire down. No word yet on a cause of the fire. The Red Cross was also called to the scene a few minutes later, according to Indiana County 911 to assist with a family displaced by the fire.

Fire officials say the house still stands, but it has a lot of smoke damage. No major injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is not known, but state police fire marshals have been called in to investigate.
On top of those two fires, three brush fires were reported in the county. The first of the brush fires was at 3:15 PM on Pioneer Lake Road in Montgomery Township.
