NELSON RELEASED, FREEING UP CAP SPACE FOR STEELERS

The Steelers yesterday terminated the contract of starting cornerback Steven Nelson, thereby saving themselves $8.25 million in the salary cap.

Nelson played two years and started 30 games for the Steelers, picking off two passes. He thanks the team for granting his request to leave, calling them a “Class A organization from top down.”
