Pitt sophomore star Justin Champagnie is going to “test the NBA Draft process,” hoping to use “the feedback from the meetings, workouts, and outside evaluations” to help him decide whether to enter the draft or return to the Panthers next season. He will not hire an agent, thus preserving his NCAA eligibility.
Coach Jeff Capel endorsed the move, saying Champagnie is only scratching the surface of his potential, and pledging to work with him and his family through the process.
Champagnie was an honorable mention All-American this season, averaging a double-double, with 18 points and 11.1 rebounds per game.
