With three games in four days coming up, the Penguins had the day off yesterday to rest their tired legs, after playing back-to-back games Saturday and Sunday.
The Pens will battle the Metro Division-leading New York Rangers tomorrow night at PPG Paints Arena, then have Thanksgiving Day off before a Friday game at Buffalo followed by a Saturday matchup back in Pittsburgh against Toronto.
With five goals and two assists in four games, the Penguins’ Sidney Crosby yesterday was named the NHL’s Third Star of the Week. Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar and Maple Leafs forward William Nylander were the first two stars. Crosby and teammate Jake Guentzel lead the NHL in even-strength points this season, with 19 and 18, respectively.
