In a brief meeting, the Marion Center school board discussed rebidding a renovation project at the high school. The board also voted on motions regarding general school affairs and personnel.
In June, the board discussed opening bids for a project to expand the fitness center at the high school. While the project was then advertised, according to Superintendent Clint Weimer, the timing was not optimal:
“This week or early next week, the advertisement will be in the paper. But, we need to get some local contractors to show some interest. Last time we posted it, it was just bad timing.”
In other news, the board approved the bus stops and bus driver list for the 2018-19 school year. They also accepted the resignations of food service employees Mary Wetzel and Sally Mock, who served the district for 2 and 3 years, respectively. Additionally, a list of district substitutes was approved, including professional, para-educators, nutrition service, and custodial staff.
