School starts this week for much of Indiana County, and IUP is revving up for the start of its academic year, too.
Homer Center kicks off the school year tomorrow, followed on Wednesday by Blairsville-Saltsburg, Marion Center, Purchase Line, and United. ICTC also starts on Wednesday. Indiana Area’s first day of classes in next Tuesday the 28th, and Penns Manor starts the following day.
The Indiana Area School Board will hold a brief meeting tonight at 5:45, just before the regularly-scheduled Buildings & Grounds Committee meeting. The board will consider hiring a secondary English teacher.
Marion Center’s board meets tonight as well. Most of the agenda items deal with personnel and with the equipment, stops, and drivers of school buses. The board will also consider the performance review of Superintendent Clint Weimer, which is rated “above average”.
IUP move-in begins on Thursday and continues through the weekend, with classes scheduled to start next Monday.
