IRMC’s chief medical officer says that the vaccination clinics at the KCAC are going very well and expects more people to be vaccinated at future clinics.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported on Monday that a total of 16,776 people have received at least partial vaccination in Indiana County. Of that, 9,048 have either received both doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the one-shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine. Another 7,728 have received at least one dose of the two-dose vaccines. IRMC reports that they have administered a total of 13,611 doses of Covid-19 vaccine. That’s first and second doses combined.
IRMC is now accepting appointments for patients 45 or older who meet phase 1-A requirements of the state’s vaccination plan, along with healthcare workers.
Last week, IRMC increased the number of vaccine doses to be dispensed at its KCAC clinic to 1,050. IRMC’ Chief Medical Officer Dr. Richard Neff says that the crew at the KCAC said they could possibly handle more vaccines.
Soon, they will look to open appointments for those 16 or older who qualify under the state’s requirements.
The hospital is asking those who registered before March 1st and were not contacted by IRMC to get a hold of them so that they can schedule you in as soon as possible, as sometimes the email messages may be sent to junk or spam email folders or the voice mail box was full and they could not leave a message.
