State police in Indiana County have charged a Harrisburg man with drug possession charges for an incident on March 19th. State police say that a trooper conducted a traffic stop on Route 422 in Cherryhill Township at 7:45 PM last Friday after witnessing a violation of the vehicle code. A passenger in the vehicle, 22-year-old Antonio Morell, was found to be in possession of marijuana. Charges of drug and paraphernalia possession were filed through district judge Christopher Welch.
A Homer City woman was charged for making false alarms to emergency services early Saturday morning. State police say they were called out to 168 Red Barn Road for a reported burglary. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the allegation was spurred by a drug-induced psychosis. State Police and other emergency services have been called out for similar incidents numerous times in the past. The suspect was cited for disorderly conduct for what police called “repetitive unreasonable behavior”.
No one was hurt in a crash Saturday night in Homer City Borough. State police say an unknown person was driving on East Indiana Street when her vehicle failed to negotiate a turn to North Main Street. The vehicle went off the road and hit a utility pole, and when she put the car in reverse, she hit a car belonging to Jennifer Mains of Homer City, which was parked in the parking lot of District Judge Susanne Steffee’s office. The vehicle that caused the damage remains unidentified at this time, but police reports say the suspect vehicle should have moderate front end damage to the front bumper and minor damage along with silver paint transfer on the rear bumper. Anyone with information on the hit and run vehicle is urged to call police at 724-357-1960.
