Pitt coach Pat Narduzzi was looking for a spark for his offense and he found it last night as sophomore Nate Yarnell got the start and led the Panthers to a 24-16 win over Boston College.
Yarnell was 11-of-19 passing for 207 and a touchdown, with no interceptions. He also ran for a score. Rodney Hammond ran for 145 yards on 15 carries, including a 66-yard scamper in the fourth quarter. And the Pitt defense clamped down on the BC offense, sacking shifty quarterback Thomas Castellanos six times and holding the Eagles to 154 yards rushing, a week after they gave up almost 400 yards on the ground to Syracuse.
Coach Pat Narduzzi says he finally got the complete-game performance from his team that he’s been looking for.
The Panthers are 3-8 and have one game left in the season, next week at Duke.
