Two brush fires were reported yesterday in Indiana County, bringing the total number of county brush fires to 80 for the year.
The first brush fire was reported in Rayne Township. Marion Center fire department was dispatched at 3:01 PM to a location on Dogwood Circle. In a post on the department’s Facebook page, Marion Center officials said that the cause of the fire was a leaf burn that started to spread quickly.
The other brush fire was on Rickersdale Road in Glen Campbell Borough at 11:07 last night. Glen Campbell firefighters were dispatched at the time. No word yet on the cause of that fire.
An uncontrolled burn was also reported in Grant Township. Commodore Fire Department was called out at 6:33 PM yesterday for the burn along Rairigh Road.
Also, a vehicle accident was reported at 3:53 PM along Route 422 West in Armstrong Township. Elderton Fire Department, Citizens’ Ambulance and State Police were called out at the time. No details are available yet on the crash.
