IUP coach Paul Tortorella guided his team to a 31-0 win at Bloomsburg on Saturday, clinching a 13th straight winning season (at 6-5) and, according to the coach, giving the Crimson Hawks just the boost they need heading into a long offseason.
Tortorella says IUP came very close to having an outstanding season.
While the IUP football season comes to a close, the basketball season is just getting started. IUP’s women won their season opener on Friday, wiping out Penn State New Kensington, 101-21. IUP will host Salem (West Virginia) tonight at 5:30 at the KCAC.
The men lost to Concord on Friday but came back strong to take down Notre Dame of Ohio, 75-67 on Saturday. Preaching patience, coach Joe Lombardi says his players are just getting to know each other and learning the system. And they are also working to get healthy.
IUP will play Walsh on Thursday night at the KCAC.
