On Wednesday, the Penns Manor School Board approved a resolution that implements the new home construction local tax abatement program.
The resolution is meant to bring new residents into the district and provides property tax exemption for two years for homeowners to build in the district. Superintendent Daren Johnston said they are about ready to roll out the program.
The board also scheduled a special voting meeting to be held December 6th for the board’s reorganization. As part of that, Ron Larch will be sworn in as a new board member, as he will take over the seat occupied by Wendy Williams. After the reorganization, the board will hold its regular committee meeting.
