The Penguins only scored two goals last night, but they controlled the play against the Anaheim Ducks and two goals were enough. Paul Steigerwald has the story.
Coach Mike Sullivan says it was a quality win.
The Penguins were already playing without backup goaltender Alex Ndeljkovic, who is on long-term injured reserve. Sullivan says third-stringer Magnus Hellberg came up big.
Penguins captain Sidney Crosby says beating Anaheim on the road is a big deal.
Crosby says Hellberg came into the game in a difficult situation and came through for the Pens.
Hellberg says coming into a close game is never easy, but his teammates picked him up.
Jarry is being evaluated to determine the extent of his injury. He was hit in the head by the hip of Ducks forward Ryan Strome with 18:24 left in the third period. He left the game with blood trickling down his face, apparently from his right eyebrow area. He made 21 saves and Hellberg made 11 in the shutout.
The Penguins play the Kings in Los Angeles tomorrow night.
