The Steelers open the second half of the season Sunday against Green Bay, with Pittsburgh in a three-way tie with the Browns and Bengals for second in the AFC North, all of them 5-3 and trailing the first place Ravens, who are 7-2.
Yesterday, the Steelers put inside linebacker Cole Holcomb on injured reserve with his season-ending knee injury and activated running back Anthony McFarland, who has been out since suffering a knee injury in the season opener against the 49ers.
Steelers players checked in yesterday and worked out. They will have the day off today and practice tomorrow in preparation for the Packers. Coach Mike Tomlin will hold his weekly news conference today.
