UPDATE: No fire was reported at the Blairsville home. The fire reported in White Township was a grease fire in a pan that a resident was able to get out of the building. The resident was treated for minor burns on-scene by Citizens Ambulance.
In the Cherry Tree crash, fire officials say that the driver collided with a car trailer and rolled onto its side. The vehicle then collided with the Cherry Tree Social Hall before rolling over two more times and coming to rest on its roof. No injuries were reported, but the driver, who was under the age of 21, was under the influence at the time of the crash.
WHAT WE FIRST REPORTED:
Indiana County first responders were busy on Sunday with two reported structure fires and two vehicle accidents.
The first structure fire of the day was reported at 1:45 AM at 55 North Brady Street in Blairsville Borough. Blairsville, Black Lick, Coral-Graceton, Derry and New Alexandria fire departments were dispatched at the time along with the HAZMAT team and Citizens Ambulance. The fire was in a one story structure.
A structure fire was also reported on Grove Lane in White Township at 8:28 PM. Indiana, Coral-Graceton, Homer City, Creekside and Aultman fire departments along with Citizens’ Ambulance and the RIT team were dispatched at the time.
No details are available yet on these fires.
The first of the two vehicle accidents were reported at 1:51 AM on Cherry Street in Cherry Tree Borough. Cherry Tree fire department and state police were dispatched to that crash. The other was on Trail Lane in Canoe Township at 5:24 PM. Citizens Ambulance, State Police and Homer City fire department was called out at the time.
