A man charged with theft and trying to evade police was sentenced yesterday in Indiana County Court.
Steven A Bushaw, Jr. was sentenced to a year of probation for guilty pleas to theft and evading arrest for the incident on June 28th. Police say that he and an unnamed 52-year-old man were involved in a string of thefts that included a sledgehammer and a mailbox at homes along Miller Avenue. Police found the two men in the area, and they led police on the chase to the parking lot of the Dollar General in Indiana Borough. Bushaw fled on foot after it was discovered that he had an active warrant out of Westmoreland County.
Bushaw was ordered to serve a year of probation for each charge, and the sentences will run consecutively.
