The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission is reminding families that need heating assistance that help is available through the LIHEAP program.
LIHEAP, which stands for Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, is now accepting applications for the program. The program helps those trying to make ends meet with cash or crisis grants directly to their utility or home heating fuel provider. People are also encouraged to contact their utility company for more information on various utility-operated Customer Assistance Programs in addition to LIHEAP assistance.
There are certain eligibility requirements. More details and applications can be found at the Department of Human Services website.
