A former inmate at the state prison facility in Indiana County was sentenced today for assaulting two corrections officers back in 2021.
Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco ordered Gerald A. Rodarmel to serve 2-4 years in prison for one count of aggravated assault and assault by a prisoner. A second count of aggravated assault was merged with the first count, and a count of harassment did not carry any punishment with it.
Authorities say that the incident happened on August 3rd of 2021, when he kicked a guard in the left knee as he was being escorted. When the two guards with him regained control and continued to escort him, Rodarmel started to drag his feet. When instructed to stand up and walk, Rodhamel kicked the first guard a second time. As Rodhamel was placed in a cell, he kicked the other guard.
Rodhamel is currently serving time at the state prison in Montgomery County.
