FIELD HOCKEY
IUP’s Lauren Horning scored her first collegiate goal, and it turned out to be the game-winner as the Crimson Hawks beat Frostburg State, 2-1 under the lights at Miller Stadium last night. After a scoreless first half, IUP fell behind 1-0 in the third quarter before a tying goal by Devon Johnson. IUP outshot Frostburg State 20-4 in the game and had a 14-4 edge in corners.
IUP’s regular-season finale is on Saturday at second-ranked East Stroudsburg, as the Hawks look for a PSAC playoff berth.
VOLLEYBALL
IUP trailed two sets to none at PSAC West leader Clarion last night but the Crimson Hawks swept the next three games, 25-22, 25-21, and 15-6 to pick up their 18th win of the season against seven losses. IUP is 8-3 in the PSAC, a game behind Clarion.
