On Friday, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced efforts to finish vaccination signups for those in phase 1-A of the state’s Covid-19 vaccination plan and move on with efforts to meet President Joe Biden’s goal of making every adult eligible to receive vaccine by May 1st.
The new goal announced by Wolf will have everyone in phase 1-A of the vaccine plan scheduled for an appointment by the end of this month to the extent that they can do so. Wolf says that the goal can be reached as the supply of vaccines to Pennsylvania increases.
If someone on the 1-A list does not seek an appointment by April or later, Wolf said that they will have priority over others on that list.
Wolf also announced that starting in April, Pennsylvania will focus vaccination efforts on front-line workers and first responders, using a portion of the Johnson and Johnson one-dose vaccines. That includes law enforcement, firefighters, grocery store workers, agricultural workers and meat packers among others. Those efforts may involve regional vaccine clinics.
